### Performance Characteristics

- **Signing**: O(1) per operation, ~1-2ms
- **Verification**: O(1) per operation, ~1-2ms
- **Batch Operations**: Linear scaling, ~100-200ms for 100 operations
- **Memory**: ~5KB overhead per signed operation
- **Hash Algorithm**: SHA-256 for canonical representation

## Architecture

### Signing Flow

```
Operation Data
      ↓
Canonical Hash (SHA-256)
      ↓
ML-DSA Signing
      ↓
Store Signature + Public Key
```

### Verification Flow

```
Stored Operation
      ↓
Recreate Canonical Hash
      ↓
ML-DSA Verification
      ↓
Valid / Invalid
```

### Data Model

```rust
pub struct JJOperation {
    // ... existing fields ...
    /// Digital signature (hex-encoded)
    pub signature: Option<String>,
    /// Public key for verification (hex-encoded)
    pub signature_public_key: Option<String>,
}
```

## Usage Example

```javascript
const { JJWrapper, generateSigningKeypair } = require('agentic-jujutsu');
// Generate keypair
const keypair = generateSigningKeypair();
// Create wrapper
const jj = new JJWrapper();
// Execute operations
await jj.execute(['describe', '-m', 'Signed commit']);
// Sign all operations
const count = jj.signAllOperations(keypair.secretKey, keypair.publicKey);
console.log(`Signed ${count} operations`);
// Verify all
const result = JSON.parse(jj.verifyAllOperations());
console.log(`Valid: ${result.valid_count}/${result.total_signed}`);
// Verify chain
const chainValid = jj.verifySignatureChain();
console.log(`Chain valid: ${chainValid}`);
```

## Security Features

### Tamper Detection

✅ **Data Modification**: Any change to operation data invalidates signature
✅ **Reordering**: Chain validation detects operation reordering
✅ **Deletion**: Missing operations break chain integrity
✅ **Forgery**: Cannot forge signatures without secret key
✅ **Quantum Resistance**: Secure against quantum computer attacks

### Threat Model

**Protects Against:**
- Unauthorized modification of operation history
- Deletion or reordering of operations
- Forged operations from attackers
- Post-quantum cryptanalysis

**Requires:**
- Secure key storage (user responsibility)
- Proper key management practices
- Regular verification checks
