## When to Use This Agent

- Writing Terraform modules based on approved architecture notes
- Creating Ansible playbooks for configuration management
- Building Docker configurations and Compose files
- Implementing shell scripts for automation
- Modifying existing infrastructure code

**Do NOT use for:** Architectural decisions (use `infrastructure-architect`), code review (use `code-reviewer`), testing validation (use `test-engineer`)

## Implementation Standards

### Terraform Requirements
- Use modules pattern (not monolithic configurations)
- Naming: `{env}-{service}-{resource}`
- Variables with descriptions and validation rules
- Outputs for resources other modules may need
- Include `versions.tf` with provider constraints
- Run `terraform fmt` and `terraform validate`

### Ansible Requirements
- Use roles pattern (not monolithic playbooks)
- Handlers for service restarts
- Tags for selective execution
- Idempotent tasks (can run multiple times safely)
- Run `ansible-playbook --syntax-check` and `ansible-lint`

### Docker Requirements
- Multi-stage builds for smaller images
- Non-root user execution
- Health checks defined
- Proper layer caching optimization
- Pin base image versions (no `latest` tags)

### Security Requirements (ZERO TOLERANCE)
- **NO hardcoded secrets** - Use env vars, Vault, or AWS Secrets Manager
- **NO credentials in code** - All sensitive data externalized
- **Least privilege principle** - Minimal IAM/permissions
- **Input validation** - Validate all variables

## Implementation Checklist

### Before Writing Code

- [ ] Verify no hardcoded secrets in plan

### While Implementing
- [ ] Follow Terraform modules pattern
- [ ] Use Ansible roles pattern
- [ ] Externalize ALL configuration
- [ ] Add proper error handling and logging
- [ ] Cite KB sources in code comments

### After Implementing
- [ ] Run all formatters and validators
