## Project foundation and prior art

This Sakiko fork builds on [`ismailsaleekh/pi-background-tasks`](https://github.com/ismailsaleekh/pi-background-tasks) for the background task registry, shell lifecycle, and task-manager UI. The existing ISC license notice is preserved in the root [`LICENSE`](LICENSE).

The signal-based manual and timed foreground Bash handoff approach references [`Mearman/tau`](https://github.com/Mearman/tau) as prior art. This notice describes conceptual provenance; it does not replace either project's license terms.
