Hello,

We’re excited to share that Checkout now supports five popular European payment methods—dynamically presenting the options most likely to improve conversion. We’ve also rolled out a new Prices API to streamline your integration across subscriptions and one-time payments.

< European payment methods to increase conversion <

You can now accept one-time payments using iDEAL, Bancontact, Giropay, EPS, and Przelewy24, and let your European customers pay the way they’re used to.

<
<
<

Only 40% of European online payments are made using debit or credit cards. In the Netherlands, 57% of e-commerce payments are made using a payment method called iDEAL. Similarly, Bancontact, Giropay, EPS, and Przelewy24 represent popular payment methods in Belgium, Germany, Austria, and Poland, and can help you increase checkout conversion in those markets. Visit our docs to start accepting these payment methods in your Checkout.

These payment methods are currently available for businesses in Europe and the United States. Please reply to this email if your business is based outside of these regions and you’d like to enable these payment methods on your account.

Using the `client-only` version of Checkout?
The client-only version of Checkout is a great way to quickly start accepting payments using only frontend code—however, it doesn’t support these European payment methods. To unlock the full power of Checkout, we recommend using the client & server version of Checkout.

< A new Prices API to streamline your integration <
<
<

We’ve introduced a new Prices API that makes it easier to have a single, consistent integration across subscriptions and one-time payments. Instead of `SKUs`, `Plans`, or one-time line items, you’ll now be able to define `Prices` for all your products. Using this new API now also makes it possible to display a product image for your subscriptions.

We’ve put together a support article with more information about using this new API with Checkout. To update to the Prices API, visit our migration guide.

We’ll continue to keep you updated on new features we add to Checkout. In the meantime, please just reply to this email if you have suggestions on how we can make Checkout work better for you.

Best,
Sam Gerstenzang
Product Manager, Stripe
