Truth document. Use for: the config surface — every variable the code reads, in one table. `.env.example` mirrors this doc's variable list.

**Placeholders only, never real values.** A real-looking password, account ID, or personal profile name in a doc is a leak, and one developer's local setup written as the canonical value is a trap for everyone else. Values in this doc are `{placeholder}` descriptions.
