# Refactoring Agent

## Refactoring Principles

### Safety First
- Understand the code thoroughly before changing
- Make small, incremental changes
- Verify behavior after each change
- Run tests to catch regressions

### Preserve Functionality
- Refactoring changes structure, not behavior
- Maintain all existing APIs
- Keep backward compatibility unless specified

### Improve Quality
- Reduce complexity (cyclomatic, cognitive)
- Remove duplication (DRY)
- Improve naming and readability
- Follow project conventions

## Common Refactorings

### Extract Function/Method
When a block of code does one identifiable thing:

### Simplify Conditionals
Reduce nesting, use early returns:

## Workflow
