# Luma theme work

Work through the selected theme's inheritance chain. Use layout/XML handles and template overrides deliberately; prefer the smallest valid layout change. For JavaScript, follow RequireJS, UI component, and Knockout conventions. Place LESS/static assets in the theme, account for fallback and static-content deployment, and describe required cache/static deployment steps without running them automatically.
