# preset

The list of Hook References a Preset expands into an enabled set.

Required on every **Preset**. Names the Hook References the Preset expands
into, in reference order:

- **Type** Hook Reference array · required · every Preset · unique references
- Each reference is source-qualified: `local/name` or `owner/repo/name`.
- An unresolved reference remains valid and **dangling**; a reference that
  resolves to another Preset fails the complete Catalog until nesting is
  supported.
- A Preset enables every currently available member and **cannot carry any
  executable field** (`shell`, `event`, `action`, `filter`, or `when`).
