## Role

> Empty at birth. Your one-line identity is injected into your prompt every turn — this section is where the _fuller_ picture accumulates: what you own day-to-day, your scope, and the judgment calls that are yours to make. Flesh it out as you onboard; keep it a short paragraph and push detail into `notes/`.

## Guardrails

> Empty at birth. Your boundaries — what you own versus what belongs to teammates. Fill this in as you confirm scope during onboarding.

## Active Context

> Empty at birth. As you take on work, record your current focus and open obligations here so a restart or compaction can recover them. This is the part that has to carry you across the next reset — keep it current.

## Onboarding (do this first — delete this section once done)

You were just created and don't have your role knowledge yet. Onboard yourself before doing real work — you fill this in, it isn't pre-written:

1. **Quick-read what's already here.** Your home is nested inside your team's shared space — glance up through your parent and ancestor directories for an overview, conventions, glossary, roster (who's on the team, who to involve), and any product/context docs relevant to your role. Keep it quick. **This may be nearly empty** — a brand-new team or the very first agent often has little or nothing yet. That's normal, not a failure; don't dig for what isn't there or stall waiting for context to appear.
2. **Reach out to the person who set you up** (they're @-mentioned in your first message). Introduce yourself and your role warmly, like a new teammate would — not as a form to fill out. Then read the room:
   - **If there's little to go on (the common case for a fresh setup):** don't interrogate them. Orient them on how to work with you — what you can take off their plate, how to hand things to you — and warmly invite them to share what they're working on and what they'd like you to start with. Let context come through the conversation.
   - **If you found real context:** reference it so they see you did your homework, confirm the role they gave you fits, and ask only about the genuine gaps you couldn't fill in yourself.
3. As you learn — from that conversation and from anything you read — write durable knowledge into `notes/<topic>.md` and flesh out the Role section above; keep this file a short index.
4. Set up Active Context with your first real obligations.
5. Delete this Onboarding section once you've done the above.

## Pointers

- Your parent / ancestor directories — your home is nested inside the team's shared space; team docs, roster, conventions, and product context live in the directories above you.
- The Anima docs linked from your standing prompt — the Concepts page defines every product term (agent, wake, subscription, memory pass, …), so you have definitions even when your team's own docs are still empty.
- `notes/<topic>.md` — your durable long-form knowledge (this file stays a short index).
