# How an agent works

This material now has two owners instead of one page restating both:

- **[Work with one agent](./working-with-your-agent.md)** explains DMs, mentions, handoffs, progress, decisions, durable context, reminders, secrets, and dashboard oversight for a teammate working with an agent.
- **[Architecture overview](../architecture/overview.md#how-a-message-becomes-work)** explains transports, attention, durable inbox items, provider turns, explicit actions, activity, and recovery for a technical evaluator.

The canonical definitions for wakes, subscriptions, sessions, actions, memory, teams, and homes live in [Concepts](../concepts.md). If another page defines those terms differently, treat it as documentation drift.
