# Changelog ## [2.2.0] - 2026-09-21 [_changes_](https://github.com/UW-Macrostrat/web-components/compare/@macrostrat/column-components-v2.1.0...@macrostrat/column-components-v2.2.0) ### Minor Changes - A note can carry a `color`, which sets `--note-color` on its group — so its [acc9f478](https://github.com/UW-Macrostrat/web-components/commit/acc9f4782cbae65bfe017aa195e1b51456871822) connector and endpoint follow the thing the note describes rather than the column's default note color. Two options on the connector itself: `connectorOverhang` continues the leader line a few pixels past each end, so it meets what marks the note's height in the column on one side and the note body on the other instead of stopping in the gap; `showPointMarker: false` drops the endpoint dot, which a connector running into something already drawn at that height doesn't need. ### Patch Changes - Give a note the height it measured, and center it on the line that points at [aa4fda55](https://github.com/UW-Macrostrat/web-components/commit/aa4fda557137cdb652cb3ddce98d1b5dae8109ef) it. Every note measures itself in the same tick, so accumulating the heights had to go through a state updater — building each from a snapshot meant only the last one was kept and the layout placed them all at its 10px guess, which left labels of two lines no room to be two lines. The note's inset is a margin again, too: as padding it folded into the measured height, so the text sat half an inset above its connector. - Fix notes columns rendering a stale layout after the column zooms or its data [af6d14e1](https://github.com/UW-Macrostrat/web-components/commit/af6d14e1da59af8d09712ed5cb750b1b6bca7cc8) changes. `NoteLayoutProvider` re-filtered the notes and laid them out in the same pass, so the layout used the note set it was replacing, and the pass that followed skipped the work because its guard only counted nodes — two columns with the same number of notes looked identical to it. Notes now lay out once the new set is in state, and the guard identifies the set itself. - Notes columns re-run their force layout once the notes' rendered heights have [7252f222](https://github.com/UW-Macrostrat/web-components/commit/7252f22207f63d57ef91172cf898f6b27c38725a) been measured. Reusing the generator retained stale `.tickValues()` config, so a section that was short (explicit first/last ticks) and later stretched kept those out-of-domain tick values — leaving some axes with no labels. Both surfaced once stable React keys stopped the axis remounting per frame. - The inline-label/note tracker (`LabelTrackerProvider`) re-syncs to the _current_ visible unit set on zoom.
