# Function: runExtensionCommand()

> **runExtensionCommand**(`extensionNodeId`, `commandId`, `commandArgs`): `Promise`\<\{ `success`: `boolean`; `value`: `string`; \}\>

Invokes an ad-hoc command on the extension.

## Parameters

### extensionNodeId

`string`

Identifier (or name) of the extension node that will execute the command.

### commandId

`string`

Identifier of the command to execute.

### commandArgs

`string`

The command arguments.

## Returns

`Promise`\<\{ `success`: `boolean`; `value`: `string`; \}\>

A promise that resolves with an object containing the success payload, or the error message on failure, along with whether it succeeded.
