# Privacy Policy

## Overview

Jeeves Server is a **private, self-hosted application**. It is not a commercial product and does not operate as a data processor for its users. This policy describes how the system handles information in the course of providing access to invited users.

## What We Collect

### Authentication Data

When you sign in via Google OAuth, the system receives:

- Your **email address** (used to identify you as an authorized insider)
- Your **profile picture** (displayed in the UI during your session)
- A **session token** (stored as a browser cookie)

This information is used solely to authenticate your access. It is not shared with third parties, stored in databases, or used for any purpose beyond session management.

### Server Logs

Standard web server logs may record:

- Your IP address
- Request timestamps
- URLs accessed
- Browser user-agent string

These logs are used for debugging and security monitoring only. They are stored locally on the server and are not shared externally.

## What We Do Not Collect

- No analytics or tracking scripts are used.
- No cookies are set beyond the authentication session cookie.
- No personal data is stored persistently beyond your email address in the server configuration (placed there by the owner when inviting you).
- No data is transmitted to third parties.
- No advertising, profiling, or behavioral tracking occurs.

## Your Data

You do not leave personal data behind on this system. You are viewing the owner's files, not uploading your own. When your session ends, the only trace of your visit is in server logs.

## Data Retention

- **Session cookies** expire when you sign out or close your browser.
- **Server logs** are retained at the owner's discretion and may be purged at any time.
- **Your email** in the configuration file persists only as long as you remain an invited user.

## Third-Party Services

- **Google OAuth**: Used for authentication. Google's privacy policy applies to the authentication flow itself. Jeeves Server receives only the minimal profile information described above.
- **No other third-party services** are used. All assets are served locally.

## Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated at any time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
