# @k41ch3n/pi-deepseek-search

Pi coding agent extension that registers the `deepseek_web_search` tool and `/deepseek-web-search-status` command.

## Install

```bash
pi install npm:@k41ch3n/pi-deepseek-search
```

The scoped name is intentional: the unscoped `pi-deepseek-search` npm name belongs to another publisher and is unrelated to this repository.

Configure DeepSeek with Pi's `/login` command. `DEEPSEEK_API_KEY` is supported as a fallback.

The tool accepts a required `query` and optional `context`, forces DeepSeek's live `web_search` tool, reports progress in Pi, and truncates oversized answers before they enter the agent context.

Requires Pi `@earendil-works/pi-coding-agent` 0.83.0 or newer and Node.js 22.19 or newer.
