# Compress

Worker owns prose compression. Input is source text plus exact length, format, or voice constraints.

## Procedure

1. Inventory material facts, distinctions, exact values and order, constraints, exceptions, permissions, gates, warnings, evidence, citations, and stops because compression is successful only when the contract survives.
2. Remove repetition, filler, hedging, ceremony, inflation, and obvious explanation. Prefer one leading word over repeated paraphrases.
3. Preserve exact names, strings, code, commands, paths, APIs, errors, numbers, links, legal terms, user terms, and surrounding voice.
4. For prompts, instructions, skills, and contracts, preserve frontmatter, triggers, exclusions, routing, permissions, validation, and stops. For code or config, change prose only.
5. Compare source and draft for omitted exceptions, weaker guards, invented claims, broken references, or scope changes.

## Proof and stop

Proof is a source-to-draft preservation check for every material constraint. Escalate ambiguity about meaning, legal terms, permissions, or requested voice to Root. Stop when the draft is shorter and constraint-equivalent, or when lossless compression cannot be proved.
