# Chi Commons

Pi module for token-efficient navigation and historical context import. Commons uses [`jsonl-reduce`](https://github.com/henkaku-center/jsonl-reduce) for reduction; it does not define a separate reduction format or algorithm.

## Use

Load `chi-base` before `chi-commons`, then run `/commons` in a project. The browser lists prior local Pi sessions (R0) and reduced artifacts (R1), newest first. From there you can:

- reduce an R0 source to a bounded R1 artifact in Pi's native session directory;
- insert an R1 into the next turn;
- insert raw R0 only after explicit confirmation.

Inserted content is visibly and model-readably labeled as historical evidence, never as a new instruction. `maxInsertTokens` is enforced before insertion. Configure Commons, automatic reduction cadence, insertion budget, and reduction-model preferences through `/chi`.

Reduced artifacts are ordinary portable Pi v3 JSONL sessions. Their `jsonl-reduce.reduction` entry remains authoritative for title and source lineage.
