# Create or replace the patient's Athena driver's-license image

Operation ID: `connectors.athenaUpdateDriversLicense`

Create or replace the patient's Athena driver's-license image. POST is required when the singleton image is absent and PUT when it already exists. Only Athena's 404 response is treated as absent. ``license_fields`` optionally carries the Athena-native text fields (``driverslicensenumber``, ``driverslicensestateid``, ``driverslicenseexpirationdate``, ``driverslicenseyn``) which are written to the patient *record* via ``PUT /patients/{id}`` after the image upload. The image and the demographic fields live on separate Athena resources, so two HTTP calls are issued; the image call is the primary one (its result is returned) and the record update is best-effort (a failure is logged but not raised so a successful image upload is never discarded by a demographic-field write error).
