# Delete a comment

**DELETE** `/v1/issues/{idOrNumber}/comments/{commentId}`

**Operation ID**: `deleteComment`
**Summary**: Delete a comment
Deletes a comment the caller wrote: it leaves the issue's comments, guidance and search. People only. The history keeps its text; deleting a guidance comment changes the issue's version.
