# Godspeed Meta-Framework Test Strategy

## 1. Introduction

This document outlines the test strategy for the Godspeed meta-framework project. It defines the scope, objectives, methodologies, and resources required to ensure the quality and reliability of the framework.

## 2. Test Scope

The testing scope includes the following areas:

* **Initialization:** Ensure that the `Godspeed` class initializes the framework correctly by loading definitions, data sources, event sources, functions, and plugins.
* **Event Subscription:** Ensure that the `subscribeToEvents` method subscribes to events from different event sources correctly.
* **Workflow Execution:** Ensure that the `executeWorkflow` method executes workflows directly without an event source correctly.
* **GSFunction**: Ensure that the `GSFunction` class and its subclasses (`GSSeriesFunction`, `GSDynamicFunction`, `GSParallelFunction`, `GSSwitchFunction`, `GSIFFunction`, `GSEachParallelFunction`, `GSEachSeriesFunction`) are working correctly. This includes testing the execution of different types of functions and tasks, as well as the handling of errors and retries.
* **GSStatus**: Ensure that the `GSStatus` class is working correctly. This includes testing the creation of `GSStatus` objects with different success codes, messages, and data, as well as the handling of `exitWithStatus`.
* **GSCloudEvent**: Ensure that the `GSCloudEvent` class is working correctly. This includes testing the creation of `GSCloudEvent` objects with different data and metadata, as well as the cloning of `GSCloudEvent` objects.
* **GSContext**: Ensure that the `GSContext` class is working correctly. This includes testing the creation of `GSContext` objects with different configurations, data sources, mappings, functions, and plugins, as well as the cloning of `GSContext` objects.
* **Configuration Loading:** Ensure that the configuration loading mechanism works correctly and that the framework can handle different configuration scenarios.
* **Data Source Loading:** Ensure that the data source loading mechanism works correctly and that the framework can connect to and retrieve data from different data sources.
* **Event Source Loading:** Ensure that the event source loading mechanism works correctly and that the framework can subscribe to and process events from different event sources.
* **Workflow Execution:** Ensure that the workflow execution mechanism works correctly and that the framework can execute different workflows with different inputs and outputs.
* **Plugin Loading:** Ensure that the plugin loading mechanism works correctly and that the framework can load and execute different plugins.
* **Event Processing:** Ensure that the event processing mechanism works correctly and that the framework can handle different event types and scenarios.
* **Swagger Generation:** Ensure that the Swagger generation mechanism works correctly and that the generated documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
* **Metrics:** Ensure that the metrics are collected and exposed correctly.
*   Core framework functionality
*   Plugin compatibility
*   API integrations
*   Performance and scalability
*   Security

## 3. Test Objectives

The primary objectives of testing are to:

* Verify that the framework meets the specified requirements
*   Identify and resolve defects
* Ensure compatibility with different environments
*   Measure performance and scalability
*   Assess security vulnerabilities

## 4. Testing Methodologies

The following testing methodologies will be employed:

*   Unit testing
*   Integration testing
*   System testing
*   Performance testing
*   Security testing
*   Acceptance testing

## 5. Testing Tools

The following testing tools will be used:

*   Jest
*   Supertest
*   Postman
*   OWASP ZAP

## 6. Test Environment

The test environment will consist of:

*   Node.js
*   Docker
*   Kubernetes

## 7. Test Data

Test data will be generated using:

*   Faker.js
*   Custom scripts

## 8. Test Cases

Test cases will be created for each feature and component of the framework.

## 9. Test Execution

Test execution will be performed using:

* Continuous integration (CI) with GitHub Actions
* Manual testing for exploratory testing and edge cases

## 10. Test Reporting

Test results will be reported using:

* Jira for defect tracking and management
* TestRail for test case management and reporting
* GitHub Actions for CI test results

## 11. Test Strategy Documentation

This test strategy will be reviewed and updated on a regular basis to ensure it remains relevant and effective. Any changes to the framework or its requirements will be reflected in this document.
