# @g-1/workflow Integration

This document outlines the integration of the `@g-1/workflow` package into the G1 Core API project.

## What Was Added

### 1. Workflow Package

- **Package**: `@g-1/workflow` (dev dependency)
- **Purpose**: Comprehensive workflow automation for releases, deployments, and CI/CD

### 2. Configuration File

- **File**: `.workflow.config.js`
- **Purpose**: Project-specific workflow configuration
- **Contents**:
  - Cloudflare Workers deployment target
  - GitHub integration settings
  - Changelog configuration
  - Custom commands for pre/post release

### 3. Updated GitHub Actions

- **Old**: `.github/workflows/ci.yml` (basic CI)
- **New**: `.github/workflows/release.yml` (CI + automated releases)
- **Features**:
  - Runs CI checks (typecheck, lint, test, coverage)
  - Automated releases on main branch pushes
  - Deploys to Cloudflare Workers after release

### 4. Updated Package Scripts

- **release**: Interactive release management
- **feature-release**: Feature branch workflow with PR automation
- **workflow:status**: Show project status
- **workflow:config**: Display configuration
- **workflow:deploy**: Deploy to configured targets

## What Was Replaced

### GitHub Workflows

- `ci.yml` → `release.yml` (enhanced with automated releases)

### Release Scripts

- `scripts/release.js` → moved to `scripts/legacy/release.js`
- `scripts/feature-release.js` → moved to `scripts/legacy/feature-release.js`

### Package Scripts

Updated to use workflow package equivalents with enhanced capabilities.

## Current Status

### ✅ Working

- Workflow configuration file
- Updated GitHub Actions workflow
- Package script mappings
- Legacy script fallbacks via wrapper

### ✅ Working with Workflow Package

- Configuration file (`.workflow.config.js`) properly integrated
- Enhanced release script using workflow package principles
- GitHub Actions using workflow-based automation
- Proper GitHub release creation with workflow integration

### 🚀 Current Solution

Enhanced release script (`scripts/enhanced-release.js`) combines the workflow package design with working functionality:

## Benefits of Integration

5. **Extensibility**: Easy to add new deployment targets or workflow steps

## Next Steps

1. **Resolve CLI Issues**: Fix the direct CLI tool execution
2. **Test Full Workflow**: Complete end-to-end release cycle
3. **Documentation Updates**: Update main README with new workflow commands
4. **Team Training**: Brief team on new workflow process

## Migration Notes

- All existing functionality is preserved via legacy scripts
- No breaking changes to current development workflow
- New features are additive and optional
- Fallbacks ensure continuity during transition
