# E-027 — An ignored plan enabled self-referential evidence

- Date: 2026-08-03
- Status: confirmed observability false `pass`, fixed.

In a discovery round, the actual plan ended up under an ignored path. The surface only saw the pre-existing `.gitignore` and `oguard.contract.json`; the latter credited the KR it declared. `align` returned `pass` without observing the deliverable or the assumptions the plan asserted.

The fix introduces three deterministic boundaries: `scope-unobservable` when a glob only resolves to ignored files, exclusion of bookkeeping as KR evidence, and a snapshot of already-dirty paths when the round opens. In addition, a discovery round can require an assumptions ledger with verifiable local evidence. The ledger does not prove business semantics or run arbitrary commands: it requires a checkable source and, where applicable, an already-declared check.

This does not prove that Objective Guard discovers contradictions like C1/C2/C3. It makes explicit when it still cannot evaluate the deliverable or its claims, avoiding presenting that absence as alignment.
