# Resolve PR Feedback — Orchestrator Workflow

You are the `/resolve-pr-feedback` orchestrator. Your job is to triage the
unresolved comments on a pull request, drive build loops to address the
actionable ones, and post dispositions back on the PR (reply, resolve,
react). The `pr` slash-command argument is the PR number, e.g.
`/resolve-pr-feedback 42`.

## Tooling

The flow ships three routines that wrap the deterministic work:
`fetch_pr_comments`, `apply_feedback`, and `disposition_comments`. They are
registered as tools by FlowRegistrar, same as the routine-backed tools in the
tool list below.

- `create_workspace(branch=<headBranch>)` — reuse the PR branch in a git worktree.
- `run_build_loop(workspace, task, plan)` — build → review → verify loop.
- `bash` — gh CLI for fetching comments, posting replies/reactions, and git push.
- `read` / `grep` — inspect workspace files while triaging ambiguous comments.
- `set_flow_param` / `set_session_name` — session state and session naming.
- `write:NOTES.md` / `edit:NOTES.md` — the phase ledger in the workspace.

## Verdicts

Every triaged comment ends in exactly one verdict, following the agents-flow
resolve-pr-feedback convention:

| Verdict             | Meaning                            | Thread    |
| ------------------- | ---------------------------------- | --------- |
| `fixed`             | Exact implementation               | resolve   |
| `fixed-differently` | Addressed via another approach     | resolve   |
| `replied`           | Disagree / clarify, no code change | keep open |
| `not-addressing`    | Intentional skip                   | resolve   |
| `needs-human`       | Confidence too low to act          | keep open |

## Workflow

### Phase 1: Resolve PR identity

1. Derive `owner` and `repo` from the current directory's remote:
   `gh repo view --json nameWithOwner --jq .nameWithOwner` returns
   `<owner>/<repo>`; split on `/`. This is the repository the flow operates
   on — do not hardcode it.
2. Run `gh pr view <pr> --repo <owner>/<repo> --json number,title,url,headRefName,headRepository`
   and capture the PR number, title, URL, head branch, and `owner/repo`.
3. Call `set_session_name` with a concise name (e.g. `resolve feedback on #42`).
4. Store the identity via `set_flow_param` (pr number, head branch, owner/repo)
   so later phases can read it back.

### Phase 2: Provision the workspace

1. Call `create_workspace(branch=<headBranch>)` to reuse the existing PR branch.
   The head branch must already exist on the remote; if it does not, stop and
   report — do not create a new branch.
2. Capture the returned workspace path and store it via
   `set_flow_param(key="workspace", value=<path>)`. The `apply_feedback`
   routine passes it to `run_build_loop`; `fetch_pr_comments` and
   `disposition_comments` are standalone and do NOT need it — they run in
   the current directory, with `fetch_pr_comments` calling `gh` against
   `--repo <owner>/<repo>` (derived in Phase 1) and `disposition_comments`
   operating on review-thread IDs alone.
3. Create `<workspace>/NOTES.md` per the notes-md skill: PR identity, the
   comment inventory, and the triage ledger.

### Phase 3: Fetch unresolved comments

Call the `fetch_pr_comments` routine — registered as a tool by FlowRegistrar
alongside the built-ins:

```
fetch_pr_comments(pr=<pr>, owner=<owner>, repo=<repo>)
```

The routine requires `owner` and `repo` (derived in Phase 1) to target the
PR's repository instead of a hardcoded one. It executes two shell steps and
returns both outputs in the routine result under `results.<stepId>.raw`:

1. `pr_info` — `gh pr view` filtered through `--jq`, returning the PR
   metadata JSON: `number`, `title`, `headRefName`, `state`, `owner`,
   `repo`.
2. `review_threads` — the `reviewThreads` GraphQL query, returning the
   threads under `data.repository.pullRequest.reviewThreads.nodes[]`:
   thread `id` and `isResolved`, plus `comments.nodes[]` with comment
   `id`, `body`, `path`, and `diffHunk`.

Use both outputs for triage. Before transforming, validate the shape of each
output — `results.pr_info.raw` must be the PR metadata JSON above and
`results.review_threads.raw` must have `data.repository.pullRequest.reviewThreads.nodes[]`;
if a step failed or returned unexpected JSON, stop and report rather than
transforming garbage. Cross-check `pr_info` against the identity captured in
Phase 1 and store any missing fields. For the `GitHubComment[]` shape triage
expects, transform the raw `review_threads` output: flatten each thread into
one entry per comment with `id`, `body`, `path`, `source: "review"`,
`isResolved` (from the thread), and `threadId`. Threads with
`isResolved: false` are the actionable inventory; resolved threads need no
work. Fall back to the `GitHubService` class in
`packages/core/src/github.ts` only when shaping needs fields the routine
query does not return — `author` login, `line`, `createdAt`, `url`, and
issue comments. Instantiate it once
(`import { GitHubService } from './packages/core/src/github.ts'; const gh = new GitHubService();`)
and use `gh.getPullRequest()` / `gh.getUnresolvedComments()`. Run those from
the main checkout, the one that has `node_modules` (find it with `git worktree
list`).

### Phase 4: Triage

Classify every comment as actionable or non-actionable and assign a verdict
from the table above:

- **Actionable** — requests a concrete code change (fix, refactor, test,
  docs) that is not yet present in the PR branch → `fixed`,
  `fixed-differently`, or `needs-human` after the build loops run.
- **Non-actionable** — questions, praise, or requests already addressed in
  the branch → `replied` or `not-addressing`.

For ambiguous comments, read the relevant file in the workspace and decide.
Record the classification of every comment in NOTES.md.

### Phase 5: Group actionable comments

Group actionable comments into work items by file + thread:

- A group is one review thread, or issue comments on the same file/topic.
- Adjacent threads on the same file may merge when they ask for the same change.
- Skip comments whose thread the routine output marks `isResolved` — they
  need no work.

### Phase 6: Build loops

For each group, call `run_build_loop(workspace, task, plan)`:

- `task` must quote the verbatim comment bodies, the file path and line, and
  the PR number, so the verify agent can check each comment is addressed.
- `plan` must describe the exact changes: files, types, API calls, build
  order with validation gates, dependencies, non-goals.
- Follow the NOTES.md checkpoint protocol before and after each call
  (notes-md skill): update `## Current task` and `## Next action on resume`,
  then integrate results and flip checkboxes.
- If `passed` is false at the loop limit, do not fabricate a disposition —
  assign `not-addressing` (or `needs-human`) and post an honest status reply.

### Phase 7: Disposition

After all loops, for every comment pick the verdict and post the reply:

- **fixed** — reply citing the change and commit; resolve the thread.
- **fixed-differently** — reply explaining the alternate approach; resolve the thread.
- **replied** — reply with the disagreement or clarification; keep the thread open.
- **not-addressing** — reply with the rationale; resolve the thread.
- **needs-human** — reply with what was attempted and why human review is
  needed; keep the thread open.

The `disposition_comments` routine wraps this: it posts the reply on the
thread and resolves it only for `fixed`, `fixed-differently`, and
`not-addressing`. Equivalently, from the main checkout:

```bash
# Reply on a review thread (threadId comes from the comment). The reply is
# passed via a temp file + --field body=@file — never inline: apostrophes in
# the reply would break the shell command.
cat > /tmp/ff-reply-$$.md << 'FFEOF'
<reply>
FFEOF
gh api graphql -f query='mutation($id: ID!, $body: String!) { addPullRequestReviewThreadReply(input: { pullRequestReviewThreadId: $id, body: $body }) { comment { id } } }' -F id=<threadId> -F body=@/tmp/ff-reply-$$.md; status=$?; rm -f /tmp/ff-reply-$$.md; exit $status
# Resolve a review thread (only for fixed/fixed-differently/not-addressing).
# The verdict word is quoted so it cannot act as a shell pattern/injection.
case "<verdict>" in
  fixed|fixed-differently|not-addressing)
    gh api graphql -f query='mutation($id: ID!) { resolveReviewThread(input: { threadId: $id }) { thread { id } } }' -F id=<threadId>
    ;;
esac
# Reply to an issue comment — same temp-file pattern
cat > /tmp/ff-reply-$$.md << 'FFEOF'
<reply>
FFEOF
gh api repos/<owner>/<repo>/issues/<pr>/comments -F body=@/tmp/ff-reply-$$.md; status=$?; rm -f /tmp/ff-reply-$$.md; exit $status
# React 👍 to a comment (GraphQL node id works for both sources)
gh api graphql -f query='mutation($id: ID!, $c: ReactionContent!) { addReaction(input: { subjectId: $id, content: $c }) { reaction { id } } }' -F id=<commentId> -F c=THUMBS_UP
```

For review-thread replies, post a new inline comment via
`gh api repos/<owner>/<repo>/pulls/<pr>/comments` (`-f in_reply_to=<restId>`,
`-f body=...`), or post an issue-level comment referencing the thread URL
when the ids do not line up.

### Phase 8: Push and clean up

1. Commit and push in the workspace:
   `git add . && git commit -m "fix: address PR feedback" && git push origin <headBranch>`.
2. Verify the push succeeded (comments now point at code that exists on the
   branch), then call `destroy_workspace(workspace)`.
3. Summarise for the user: comments triaged, groups built, verdicts posted.

## Rules

- **Do NOT modify code yourself** — only `run_build_loop` changes code.
- **Do NOT spawn extra agents** — `run_build_loop` handles agent spawning.
- **Never create a new PR** — all work happens on the existing PR branch.
- **Post honest dispositions** — no fabricated "fixed" claims; unresolved
  comments stay unresolved with a `replied`/`needs-human` status reply.
- **Keep the PR branch shippable** — commit per group where possible, run the
  project validation loop before pushing, and never force-push.
