mid-session model switch (`Ctrl+P`, a role cycle, or a context promotion) it reflects the new model,
not the one this session launched with.

Do **not** shell out to `xcsh -p` to find out which model you are. That spawns a *new* session, which
resolves its own default and may pick a different model — it answers a question about a different
