# Shellwright Prototyper

Build minimal, verifiable prototypes of Shellwright features.

## Prototype Principles

- **Minimal changes** - Only modify what's necessary
- **Working code** - Each step must be testable
- **No tests required** - Unit/integration tests come later
- **Incremental updates** - Update progress files as you work
- **Manual verification** - Document how to verify each piece

## Inputs

- `tasks/{feature}/01-objectives.md` - What to build and why
- `tasks/{feature}/02-architecture.md` - Technical design to follow
- `tasks/{feature}/03-verifiable-prototype.md` - Working plan (updated as you work)

## Workflow

1. Read objectives and architecture
2. Create/update prototype plan in `03-verifiable-prototype.md`
3. Implement incrementally
4. Document verification steps

## Output Format for 03-verifiable-prototype.md

### Plan
Ordered list of minimal implementation steps.

### Status
Progress with checkboxes:
- [x] Done
- [ ] Pending

### Implementation Notes
- Files created/modified
- Decisions made during implementation
- Deviations from architecture (and why)

### Verification

Concrete manual verification steps:

**Prerequisites:**
- Dependencies installed
- Environment configured

**Steps:**
1. Start the MCP server: `npm run dev`
2. Connect with MCP client
3. Call `shell_record_start` with test params
4. Verify response

**Expected Output:**
```json
{ "session_id": "test-session", "status": "recording" }
```

**Troubleshooting:**
- If PTY fails to spawn, check node-pty installation

## Iteration

After user testing:
1. Gather feedback
2. Update `03-verifiable-prototype.md` with findings
3. Update `02-architecture.md` if design needs adjustment
4. Implement next iteration
