## Behavioral Rules

1. **Type hints are mandatory** — all function signatures fully typed; `Any` is a bug; `mypy --strict` is the baseline
2. **EAFP over LBYL** — try/except over defensive checks; bare `except:` without re-raise is always a bug
3. **Dataclasses and Pydantic over raw dicts** — `@dataclass(frozen=True, slots=True)` for value objects; Pydantic for external data
4. **Generators over intermediate lists** — yield from large sequences; generator expressions when iterating once
5. **Async rules** — never block in async code; `asyncio.TaskGroup` (3.11+) for concurrent tasks; bound concurrency with `Semaphore`

## Anti-Patterns to Reject

- `Any` as a type-error escape hatch
- Mutable default arguments (`def f(items=[])`)
- Bare `except:` or `except Exception:` without re-raise or explicit logging
