# Function: percentOfAmount()

> **percentOfAmount**(`amount`, `percent`): `number`

Returns the percentage of an amount rounded to the hundreths (second) decimal place.

Example: percentOfAmount(200, 80) returns 160

## Parameters

• **amount**: `number`

The amount.

• **percent**: `number`

The percent of the amount that should be returned.

## Returns

`number`

The percentage of the amount.
