# Function: calculateItemDue()

> **calculateItemDue**\<`T`\>(`item`): `number`

Calculates the amount due for an item based on its price and the amount already paid.

## Type Parameters

• **T** *extends* `object`

The type of the item, which must have a `price` and `paidAmount` property.

## Parameters

• **item**: `T`

The item for which to calculate the amount due.

## Returns

`number`

The amount due for the item.
