# Cameras — Knowledge Base

> Comprehensive list of cinema and prosumer cameras used in film, commercial, and creator workflows. Use this when generating image/video prompts.

## How to use

Each camera has a distinct **look character** that translates to specific visual qualities in prompts:
- ARRI = filmic, organic, warm shadows
- RED = ultra-sharp, vibrant
- Sony Venice = beautiful skin tones, dynamic range
- Sony A-series = neutral, sharp, modern
- Canon = warm color science
- Film cameras (35mm/16mm) = organic grain

## Tiers

- **high-end** — cinema, narrative film, premium commercial ($50K+)
- **mid-high** — indie cinema, broadcast ($15-50K)
- **mid** — prosumer cinema ($5-15K)
- **prosumer** — hybrid mirrorless ($2-5K)
- **consumer** — accessible (<$2K)
- **specialty** — film cameras, action cams

## Camera + sensor language for prompts

When writing image prompts, mention:
- "Shot on [camera]" — establishes look authority
- "[focal length] lens at f/[aperture]" — depth of field control
- "Sensor: [Full Frame / Super 35 / Large Format]" — specific quality

Example prompt phrases:
- "Shot on ARRI Alexa Mini LF with 50mm Cooke S4 at f/2.0"
- "Sony FX3 with G Master 24mm at f/1.4, 4K"
- "Captured on 35mm film, Arriflex 435"

## DON'T mix incompatible

- Don't say "shot on iPhone with anamorphic lens at 8K" — unrealistic
- Don't say "ARRI Alexa with consumer lens" — tier mismatch
- Match camera tier with lens tier
