# TanStack Start base app

Reference TanStack Start project used by `create-stack`. Fork it when you want
the base without the CLI, or let the CLI select and trim it for a new project.
It includes:

- **baseline**: `~/*` alias, typed `env.ts`, strict Biome, Tailwind v4 + shadcn
  (Geist, dark mode)
- **data**: Drizzle (Postgres) + drizzle-kit, faker seed harness
- **auth**: better-auth (email/password + verification, optional Google) + a full
  auth UI (sign-in/up, forgot/reset, verify) with `@tanstack/react-form`
- **email**: mailer (Resend) + Email UI templates (`email:dev` studio)
- **API**: tRPC (`useTRPC`) + TanStack React Query with SSR hydration
- **UI utilities**: theme toggle (light/dark/system), DataTable, DatePicker
- **deploy**: multi-stage `Dockerfile` (Nitro output) for a VPS

Add more capabilities later with `create-stack add`.

## Coming from ESLint + Prettier?

This stack uses [Biome](https://biomejs.dev) instead. One tool handles formatting
and linting, with one configuration file:

| `eslint --fix && prettier --write` | `pnpm check:write`                 |
| `.eslintrc` + `.prettierrc`        | a single `biome.jsonc`             |

Format-on-save for VS Code and Zed, plus the pre-commit hook, are already wired.
You can replace Biome with ESLint and Prettier, but the base app's configuration
and hooks currently target Biome.
