In October 2025, the Citizenship byInvestment Unit of São Tomé and Príncipe held a national conference to formally introduce the Citizenship by Investment Program to key stakeholders and the wider public. The event was attended by prominent figures including H.E.Américo d'Oliveira dos Ramos, Prime Minister of São Tomé, H.E. Vera Maria Assunção Gomes Cravid, Minister of Justice, and Mr. Disney Leite Ramos, Director of the CIU.
Hosted before members of the national press, the conference covered the strategic vision of the program and emphasized the role of the National Transformation Fund as a catalyst for sustainable development in the nation. Speakers highlighted how contributions through the program are being directed into essential sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure, education, and eco-tourism.
Presentations also showcased several ongoing projects financed by program contributions (such as generators purchased to reduce dependence on external providers), demonstrating clear, measurable progress since the program’s inception. These initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to channeling investment into areas that strengthen the country’s economic resilience and create long-term benefits for its citizens.
The event was an important step in consolidating São Tomé and Príncipe’s Citizenship by Investment Program as both a legitimate and straightforward path to a second citizenship and a meaningful instrument of national development and international cooperation.
