Spatial Anchors Demos

Content that stays where you put it. An anchor is corrected as the platform refines its map of the room, so what you place is still in the same physical spot when you come back to it.

💡 Persistence only works on a headset. Per MDN, requestPersistentHandle and friends are implemented in Oculus Browser 31.2 and nowhere else, so Chrome on a phone can create anchors but never save them, and desktop has no tracking system to anchor against at all. Each demo says which backing it got, and you want it to read "Real anchors, saved across sessions" before any of this means anything.

Demos

Markers Drop a marker, leave the session, come back and find it in the same place. The smallest thing that shows the mechanism, talking to the anchor subsystem directly and tracking a position per anchor. Anchored notes Type on the spatial keyboard and pin the note where you are looking. The text is the anchor's label, so what survives is real content rather than a placeholder. Anchored gallery Leave shapes around the room at the angle you were looking, and find them at that angle next time. Orientation as well as position, restored through the AnchoredObjects helper, which keeps objects glued to their anchors so an app never writes the per-frame pose plumbing.

Colour means the same thing in all three: anything green came back out of storage, everything else was placed this session. After a reload the whole scene should be green, so a newly placed one stands out. That is the quickest way to tell a genuine restore from content that was simply never cleared.
