The Healing Pod #7 - Walking Meditation

Your meditation practice has been sitting still. In this episode it gets up and walks. We cover what walking meditation does for the mind: it trains attention in motion, shakes ideas loose, gives restless minds a door in, breaks worry spirals, and reveals the pace trick, slow your feet and your thoughts follow. For the body it wakes up feeling in the feet, sharpens your sense of where you are in space, and gives restlessness a job. Then we walk together for five minutes, slow, eyes open, lift, move, place. The growth this week goes into your homework: twenty minutes a day, mixing sitting, scanning, or walking, plus one short slow walk every day. Hosted by Alden Isaac.

Chapters:
00:00 Welcome back
00:50 Why walking
02:01 What it does for the mind
06:22 What it does for the body
10:27 How to walk
12:05 If you can't walk right now
12:49 Practice: five minutes together
17:49 Closing and homework

The Healing Pod #6 - The Body Scan

Your body has been sending you mail you never open: tight shoulders, a clenched jaw, breath gone shallow for hours. In this episode we learn the body scan, a slow tour of attention from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. The assignment is simple: feel, don't fix. Blankness counts as data, itches and urges are just more things to notice, and when the mind wanders you return to the body without rewinding. Then we practice together for seven minutes. The growth this week goes into your homework: fifteen minutes a day, plus a ten-second body check once a day. Hosted by Alden Isaac.

Chapters:
00:00 Welcome back
01:13 The mail you don't open
02:39 How the tour works
04:59 What you'll run into
07:11 The same move
08:21 Setting up the practice
09:18 Guided practice begins (7 minutes)
11:14 Gentle bridge
12:27 Gentle reminder
14:22 Open rest
15:56 Closing the practice
16:18 Homework and your questions

The Healing Pod #5 - The Weather Inside

Your emotions are not you. They are weather passing through you, and you are the sky. In this episode we talk about why feelings feel so permanent when they are actually temporary, the three ways emotions get stuck (chasing the story, fighting the feeling, and trying to fix it), and the one move that handles all three: name the sensation in your body before the story starts. Then we practice together for seven minutes, sitting with whatever weather is inside. The growth this week goes into your homework: ten minutes a day, plus a one-word emotion-naming assignment. Hosted by Alden Isaac.

Chapters:
00:00 Welcome back
01:21 The feeling and the story
03:06 The sky and the weather
05:00 The naming move
06:46 The fixing reflex

The Healing Pod #4 - Sound and Silence

You do not need a quiet room to meditate. The traffic, the neighbor's dog, the hum of the fridge: sound is not the enemy of your practice, it can be one of your best anchors. In this episode we talk about why noise feels like such a problem, the half-second chasing reflex that turns every sound into a story, a different way to meet sound by receiving instead of chasing, and the quiet hiding underneath all the noise. Then we practice together for seven minutes, the same as last time. The growth this week goes into your homework instead: ten minutes a day, plus a one-minute listening assignment. Hosted by Alden Isaac.

Chapters:
00:00 Welcome back
01:28 The world is loud
03:29 The chasing reflex
05:12 Receiving versus chasing
07:06 The quiet underneath
09:20 Practice: settling in
10:57 Guided practice begins (7 minutes)
11:25 Silent practice
12:28 Gentle reminder
12:37 Silent practice continues
13:40 Gentle reminder
14:00 Silent practice continues
15:46 Open listening
16:11 Silent practice continues
17:31 Closing the practice
17:57 How was that, homework, and your questions

The Healing Pod #3 - The Restless Body

Your nose itches the moment you sit down to meditate. Your foot falls asleep, your back aches, your knee wants to bounce. That is not failure. Your body did not get louder, you got quieter, and now you can finally feel what was always there. In this episode we talk about why stillness feels wrong to the body at first, the half-second reflex between an itch and a scratch, the honest line between discomfort and real pain, and how the body becomes your meditation teacher instead of your meditation problem. Then we practice together for seven minutes, one minute longer than last time. Hosted by Alden Isaac.

Chapters:
00:00 Welcome back
01:27 Why the body gets louder
03:20 The half-second reflex
05:43 Discomfort vs pain
07:54 The body as teacher

The Healing Pod #2 - The Wandering Mind

Your mind wanders during meditation. That is not a flaw, it is the workout. In this episode we talk about why your brain will not quiet down, why fighting your thoughts only makes them louder, and the one move that handles every kind of wandering: notice, name it softly, and return kindly. Then we practice together for six minutes, one minute longer than last time. Hosted by Alden Isaac.
